A conference at Toronto, 1971

At a conference at the University of Toronto, 10 February 1971, Auden talked with Marshall McLuhan, Buckminster Fuller, Jack MacGowran, and A. N. Jeffares on the topic "Theatre and the Visual Arts," although the actual subject matter ranged widely.

A transcript was published the following year as "Theatre and the Visual Arts: A Panel Discussion", in Theatre and the Visual Arts, ed. Robert O'Driscoll and Lorna Reynolds. Shannon: Irish University Press, for University College, Galway, 1972 (Yeats Studies, series 2), pp. 127-38.

The CBC reportedly recorded it for its broadcast series Ideas; the date of the broadcast has not been found. CBC Learning Systems released a cassette tape, Theatre and the Visual Arts (628 in its series; no date). A copy is the library of the University of Maryland College Park. The recording may be heard here, taken from a YouTube posting (where the video has no relevant content).
